Renting property in Al Ain

Please note: if any of the numbers below are out of date, please email me so I can update this page!

If you’re looking to rent property in Al Ain – an apartment or a villa – there are a number of people and organisations who can help you. (While I was looking for a new home for my family I took photos of the various agents I met, so the photos on this page were snapped during various viewings I had.)

Manuel D'SouzaManuel D’Souza was recommended to me by a friend who said he was very reliable, and a very nice guy. So I gave Manuel a call, and he showed me round one property. Born and raised in India, he has lived in the Emirates for more than 20 years. In some cases he may be able to charge less than a 5% fee. I saw lots of other properties, but I ended up renting one of Manuel’s.

He also sells land to Emiratis. (Ex-pats can’t buy land here.)

You can ring him on 050 693 5435.

DSCF0608Thames Real Estate is run by Calum Ewing and Akram Matboue.

They are property agents who have various apartments and villas available, and they also give advice and information about living in Al Ain. They offer from 1-bed apartments and studio flats to 2-3-bedroom apartments to 2, 3, 4 and 5-bedroom villas.

All the properties they represent are immediately available, so you can move in right away.

When my family and I were looking for a new property to move to, I rang Calum, told him what we were looking for, and we met up the next day outside the Hilton Hotel. He then drove me to see 4 suitable properties, at a range of prices within our budget.

Calum, who hails from Edinburgh in Scotland, charges a 5% fee on top of the yearly rental cost. He vets the landlord, checks the property out, and handles all the paperwork so your moving and settling in process is smooth. He doesn’t leave you in the lurch to handle switching on water, electricity, internet, etc.

(On the right is a poor photo I took of Calum as he showed me round a property.)
