Here is what I’ve been told first hand, or second hand in one case…

Someone who does the ironing, six days a week, 8am to 1pm then 5pm til midnight: 500 dirhams (£88 / US$140) a month

A worker in a shop, similar hours as above: 1,500 dirhams  (£260 / $400) a month

Someone with a reception-type job in a hotel, with free accommodation and food: 1500 dirhams  (£260 / $400) a month

A maid in a home, with free accommodation and food: 1500 dirhams  (£260 / $400) a month

A petrol pump attendant: 1,600 dirhams a month, plus maybe a further 600 dirhams a month in tips

A lifeguard at a hotel, with free accommodation and food: 2,000 dirhams (£350 / $550) a month

A driver of a silver taxi: 2,000 dirhams a month, up to 4,000 dirhams
