I am teaching in Buraimi and is from South Africa. I have a daughter with Down syndrome who would like to join a swimming club. She is 17 years of age and competed at the world championships last year in Taipei. I would like her to continue with swimming and if possible compete at the world champs in 2012 again. Will it be possible for her to join your club and if not do you know of any other club that would be able to assist? She joined a normal swimming club in South Africa and also swam at the abled bodies galas to get times for her to be able to qualify for the champs.
Your help will be highly appreciated
regards
Woudie
Hi Woudie, Thanks for your question. I don’t have daughters so I don’t know anything about swimming opportunities for girls. However I am sending you an email with the telephone number of my son Toby’s swimming coach, and he may be able to help you.

Hi Ahmad,
No, not really. But ring up and ask anyway.
No, there are no public swimming pools I’m aware of: they’re really for use by school children.
Chris
Hi Zubair,
Your only option is to pay for a day pass at one of the local hotels like the Hilton, Rotana or Danat.

Hi Vel,
This isn’t a club which teaches swimming — I suggest you try one of the hotels in the town with a pool.
