Al Ain Paradise Hanging Gardens

The Al Ain Paradise Gardens is probably Al Ain’s most famous attraction, attracting 7,000 visitors in one day when it reopened in February 2012 after being closed for months for refurbishment. On average, about 1,000 people visit each day when it’s open.

Note: Please do not travel to this attraction unless you know for certain that it is open! These gardens have been closed during the first half of 2013. Comment below if you find them open.

Opening times – when it is open!: 9am to 9pm, but I once visited the Gardens during the week and they were closed until 2pm. Entry is free. You can take drinks into the gardens, but you can’t take food.

Fridays is for families only. Borrow some children for the day if necessary: the gardens are a must see! 🙂

How to get to the Al Ain Paradise Gardens

• Put these co-ordinates into your satellite navigation device: N24.16557 E055.70950.

• If you are travelling east to west along ‘school road’ in the southern part of Al Ain, go past the Al Ain English Speaking School on your left, turn left at the next roundabout, and go across the next roundabout, this is the next roundabout you come to…

Al-Ain-Paradise-roundabout

You should see red, white and blue spheres in the middle of the roundabout, as well as a small pagoda.

You have just driven southwards, but this photo is taken from the other side of the roundabout, looking back northwards.

As you go across this roundabout, still heading south, turn right after 100 metres where you see this sign…

Turn right at the next little roundabout, then turn into the car park next to the entrance to the gardens.

The Al Ain Paradise Gardens not a big place, but I think it’s beautiful.

This is what the entrance to the Al Ain Paradise Gardens looked like in the summer of 2010…

    Hi Girish,
I think it’s very likely that the gardens will be open by then.
Check this web page on the morning of February 3 or 4 to see if I’ve put a “IT’S OPEN!” message at the top so you know the gardens will be open when you come. 🙂
I’ll find out when the opening and closing times are too.
    Chris

    Hi Edgar,
Sign up for the newsletter and ebook and you’ll get links to a few maps I created. You’ll see the Gardens and Jebel Hafeet on those maps.
Al Ain is basically rectangular and gridlike. You arrive from Dubai at the top right corner (east side) of Al Ain, and the Gardens are south and west of the town. If that makes sense you’ll find your way across.
    Chris
