The Al Ain Paradise Gardens is probably Al Ain’s most famous attraction, attracting 7,000 visitors in one day when it reopened in February 2012 after being closed for months for refurbishment. On average, about 1,000 people visit each day when it’s open.
Note: Please do not travel to this attraction unless you know for certain that it is open! These gardens have been closed during the first half of 2013. Comment below if you find them open.
Opening times – when it is open!: 9am to 9pm, but I once visited the Gardens during the week and they were closed until 2pm. Entry is free. You can take drinks into the gardens, but you can’t take food.
Fridays is for families only. Borrow some children for the day if necessary: the gardens are a must see! 🙂
How to get to the Al Ain Paradise Gardens…
• Put these co-ordinates into your satellite navigation device: N24.16557 E055.70950.
• If you are travelling east to west along ‘school road’ in the southern part of Al Ain, go past the Al Ain English Speaking School on your left, turn left at the next roundabout, and go across the next roundabout, this is the next roundabout you come to…
You should see red, white and blue spheres in the middle of the roundabout, as well as a small pagoda.
You have just driven southwards, but this photo is taken from the other side of the roundabout, looking back northwards.
As you go across this roundabout, still heading south, turn right after 100 metres where you see this sign…
Turn right at the next little roundabout, then turn into the car park next to the entrance to the gardens.
The Al Ain Paradise Gardens not a big place, but I think it’s beautiful.
This is what the entrance to the Al Ain Paradise Gardens looked like in the summer of 2010…
And this is what it looks like now…
A close-up of the new sign…
The Guinness World Records notice…
…which says…
Guinness World Records Certificate
The largest display of hanging baskets consists of 2,968 arrangements, and was achieved by Akar Landscaping Services Agriculture (UAE) in the Zakher area in Al Ain, UAE, on 28 February 2011.
Here’s what you’ll see at these gardens…
There are toilets / rest rooms here…
…and there are free water dispensers if you need a drink.

(Not long ago, I had a request to use one or more of these photos in a Dubai-based magazine, and asking for the hi-resolution original files, which I happily emailed along in exchange for a credit line in the magazine. If you too would like copies of the hi-resolution originals, drop me a line.)

Hi Ahilya,
You can rent my children for a couple of hours for a fair rate!
My eldest, aged 12, is saving up for a bike.
Joking aside, if you turn up and you’re friendly and chatty with the staff, most likely they’ll let you in — especially if you go earlier in the day when it’s quieter.
Chris
Hi Sarrah,

HI cHRIS
wHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE zAKHER LAKE/POOL
Hello,
I’m sorry, I don’t know anything about Zakher Lake/Pool.
If you find out more, do let me know and I’ll add it to this site.
Thanks!
Chris
Hi Fatima,
Great question. I don’t have a answer though as there is rarely a staff member at the Gardens who knows English well enough, or has briefed on when it’s likely to close!
However… I filmed a video at the gardens — which is on YouTube — on June 10 last year, so the Gardens could be open this year until June too.
If I know any more I’ll update this page.
I hope that helps!
Chris
Thanks Sabah! 🙂

Heaven in earth…………Wonderful and amazing garden…no words to explain………..
Hi Chris,
My mother is an amazing lady 90 years old and very fit and full of life. She wants to go to Dubai but she is an avid gardener and when I saw your pics of Al Ain gardens I thought that’s where I should take her! When is the best time to go? Are there golf carts or any thing to drive one around- she does get a bit tired with too much walking?
Would be most grateful for some advice!
Many thansk,
Nicky
